ABOUT US
"If you never did you should.
These things are fun and fun is good."
(from One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr Seuss)
What have you always wanted to do and were perhaps afraid to try, or not had time or the opportunity to "give it a go"? Well, with our group you may get your chance. You may not be able to do every activity for good reason. For example you might not like heights, be claustrophobic or can't participate for medical reasons but don't let that put you off joining in. You can pick the activities that you fancy and for others you might like to come along and encourage those participating. If you look at our bucket list below you will see that it already contains a very wide and varied range from scary adventures to more gentle events. The pictures above mostly show the more adventurous and photogenic events, but we shall try to achieve a balanced programme in which there is something for everyone.
We are aiming to do at least one adventure a month. The actual dates will be determined by the organisers who will be trying to find the most suitable ones. Adventures will be indoors and outdoors and will continue all year.
BUCKET LIST
Our bucket list gives a list of all the things that we have done and those that we may like to do. Those already done are shown in bold. Adventures will be repeated so don't worry that you won't be able to do something just because it has already been done. We welcome suggestions for additional adventures to add to the list.

To enjoy the activities that we organise you need to be a member of the Active Adventurers group. Any member of U3A in Bath can join by paying a one-off joining fee of £10. The joining fee is necessary because to secure a booking we may have to pay a deposit in advance and at short notice and we need to have funds readily available to be able to do this.
The joining fee and payments for activities go into an Active Adventurers bank account that is monitored by a Treasurer of U3A in Bath and audited annually by an independent professional auditor along with all other U3A in Bath accounts. The bank requires outgoing payments to be approved by two members of our organising team. The names and pictures of our organising team are shown below.
As a member of the Active Adventurers group you will get full details of each forthcoming activity by email in addition to the brief details given on these web pages. For those not on line, we send the details out by post, in which case we ask for a supply of stamped addressed envelopes so that we can do this.
Occasionally we may need to make up a minimum number for a particular activity. If we cannot reach this number with our Active Adventurers group members, we may then open the activity to other U3A members. However, this will only be done after Active Adventurer members have had a chance to book and we have failed to reach the requisite minimum number.
