Renew membership

You will be sent a reminder that your membership is due for renewal. We encourage members to renew online through the Beacon Members Portal using your Credit or Debit card or PayPal account. Using this method helps to keep costs down and reduces the work involved for our volunteers during the busy renewal period. NB Our online system uses PayPal to process payments securely, but you don’t need a PayPal account, you can pay using your Credit or Debit card. If you prefer you can renew by post or by bank transfer.

1. Register for a Members' Portal account

If you haven't already done so you will need to register for an account on the Members Portal in order to access your membership details and renew your membership. When you use the button above for the first time click on 'Register for a membership account'. You will be asked for your membership number, first name, last name, postcode and email address as well as to create a password.

Click here for a Help sheet on how to register with the Members Portal. For further information go to the Members' Portal page. If you have forgotten your membership number, just message the Membership Secretary and she will send you a reminder.

Subsequently, when you log into the Members Portal you can renew your membership or update your contact details with just your email address and password.

2. Renew membership and make payment

Once you have registered with the Members' Portal, log in using your email address and password. If your membership is due for renewal, you will see an option "Renew your membership". Click on this. If this option is not shown your membership is either not due for renewal or you have already renewed. Read our Online Membership Renewal Payment Helpsheet to help you finish your renewal and pay by Credit or Debit card.

After you have renewed, the front page of the Members Portal displays a message "Your membership continues until 1st October 202_" so you cannot renew twice.

After renewing, you will receive an email from Bath u3a confirming that your renewal has been processed. Keep it in a safe place - you may be asked to show it at meetings – either on your smartphone or as a printed copy. If this email does not come within a few minutes, contact the Membership Secretary.

You should also receive an email from PayPal acknowledging your payment. Please ignore the invitation to open a PayPal account.
