We began as a new group in January 2024 and have been steadily building our membership.
At each session one member will give a presentation chosen from this broad musical genre (usually from CDs or downloads) and between tracks give some information about the performer or the band, or the composer. Presentations will be one-off topics or be themed together over the term.
Whether its “New Orleans Jazz”, “Tenor Sax giants”, “Keyboard classics”, or personal choices like “My Best 10 CDs”, we will explore what makes jazz such a varied and still-developing sector of music. In other words, anything goes and the whole range of jazz is available to us.
No musical knowledge is expected! We meet in a city centre pub in a first-floor room (unfortunately there is no lift). There is no charge but a collection for a local charity is requested.
Bath u3a members can contact us via maynard22@hotmail.com or via the Enquiry link at the top of this page. Non-members should contact the Groups Advisers for more information.
