Are you interested in researching your family tree? Would you like to learn more about those inherited dusty old photographs and papers stored in your loft?
Our members range from those wo are new to family history to those who have many years experience in carrying out research and writing up their findings. Our group is for anyone who is interested in family history.
We are happy to help novices get started and may be able to offer advice if a member has hit a 'brick wall'.

In carrying out research most members use subscription websites such as Ancestry and Find My Past, but alongside these are other genealogy sites, some of them free to access, which members find helpful. There are also county archives and and record offices. Several of our members are experienced with DNA and can demonstrate its benefits and provide advice.
We hold monthly meetings at the Percy Community Centre, New King Street, Bath, starting at 2pm. The venue is wheelchair accessible. The sessions usually include an illustrated presentation by a group member as well as a wider discussion on matters of most common interest.
We always welcome enquiries from prospective members, who are encouraged to come along to a meeting to confirm whether they would like to join the group. Bath u3a members can email the Group Convenor via the Enquiry link at the top of this page. Non-members should contact the Groups Advisers for more information.
