The speaker will provide a brief history of mosaic making and the real experience of a modern-day mosaicist. She will cover the periods from Ancient Greek to Byzantium mosaics through to current British and American mosaic artworks. She will reference and explain her own techniques, designs and commissions throughout the talk and how ancient Roman mosaics have inspired her own work. Joanna Dewfall has been making mosaics for over 30 years. Joanna's commissions vary from private gardens and houses to parks and railway stations. Joanna's passion is creating large scale legacy mosaic artworks with teams of people of all ages and abilities.
